About the Two Year Old

Lately, she has been asking a lot of questions. The first time she uttered the 3 letter word WHY, I thought, should I be scared now. Not just that, she has been really asking real questions. like "What are you doing, Mommy?, "What is that, Daddy?" My little girl has really grown a lot. It's cliche but it really seems like yesterday  when I first held her in my arms. A tiny little 6.2 lbs. bundle of joy. Soon, she will be our little school girl.

looking like a school girl in this dress.
On another note, I have finally started and almost finished my the third bedroom which we turned into her playroom. It has been a long time since we've wanted to make it into her playroom and we have finally done it but still unfinished. She loves it though and is always in it first thing when she wakes up and right before going to bed.

Still unfinished. Curtain needs changing to match the theme color.

Finally, a space to keep her books.

And a wall to put her artworks.

Stage Mommy's Trendy Mommy

As a part of my blog, I will regularly feature mommies who inspite of their being a mom still manage to look good and take care of themselves despite the fact that when you are a mom and a wife, your kids and husband always come first.

As they say, this is the generation of yummy mommies. The generation of multitasking women who manage to juggle family and career. Women who also bring home the bacon at the end of the day and yet, after a very long day, still look good and immaculate. As Kimora Lee Simmons would say, " fabulosity!"

Stage Mommy's very first trendy mommy in the series is a friend of mine who I always admire for looking well polished all the time. Someone who always looks like she made an effort but I bet she doesn't. She must just get out of bed and just wear whatever she sees in her closet and still look good. If there's someone who's closet (shoes and bag closet included) I would love to raid, it would be hers.

Stylish mommy Nenette Enage Belonta, mom to Nhean and wife to Nolan.

On Fashion:

What are your wardrobe staples?
It's worth stocking upon pieces that will always look great no matter the trend du jour.I always think versatility, longevity and everlasting appeal of simplicity, that is why basic plain colors wash clothes will always be in my wardrobe , for I do believe that the beauty of style, harmony and grace depends on simplicity of colors.

Do you go for high street, designer or both?
I would say both...but I always put in mind that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a fashion of high street and designers expensive ideas..but how you carry them with grace.

On Beauty:
I would say "less is more".. ever notice how some of your friends look best with no makeup at all? No matter your age, too much makeup makes you look worse. If you wear foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eyeshadow, lip liner and gloss on an everyday basis, then you're overdoing it. Tone it down: All you really need is a great mascara, concealer for blemishes and gloss. Add a pop of blush in winter...and oh  I am loving the softness of the creme de la mere moisturizer at present.but still true beauty is when you look into a woman's eyes and see what's in her heart.

On Being a Wife and Mommy:

Being a wife can be a challenge and one of the biggest roles that a woman can take on. It's easier to be loving during the early years of a relationship where everything is fresh and new. It takes commitment and dedication to remain loving in a long marriage, especially one where the busyness of daily life and children can be overwhelming at times.oh well, even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it...my Nollan and my long awaited Nhean always makes my day complete.
Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind let's you.what you believe, remember, you can achieve.

Thank you,Nenette for sharing your thoughts and some beauty secrets to me and to my blog followers (I do have some, you know). In my future posts, I will one day raid your bag and shoe closet. Now, on the lookout for my next stylish mommy.

My Current Favorite

The moment I tried this color in the shops, I fell in love with it and I promised I'll get one, one day. I said one day, because it is not the cheapest bottle of nail polish. Not your average £5 bottles. Sometimes I go for Nail, Inc. which is a bit on the expensive side and I have a bottle of OPI which is beautiful as well . As they say, you get what you pay for. Cheap nail polish chip quite easily in a day or two.

finally, I got a bottle of my most coveted Chanel 's Le Vernis in Black Pearl.

I love the fact that it changes color depending on the lighting. In broad daylight, the color is just like how it looks in the bottle, more grayish than blue, but inside or with different indoor lights, it could be more blue than gray . One time it really changed to a royal blue. It's amazing and I love it.

Work Clothes Challenge

When I went to have uniforms fitted for my new job, I thought I would be able to take them home that day but it was not the case. I had to wait apparently 6 weeks max until I get them. It's only been over a week and I am now having a hard time thinking what to wear every single day.

It has always been my wish to wear normal clothes to work but as they say, be careful  with what you wish for,it might just come true. But while on the bus on my way to work, thinking about what to wear the next day, I had a light bulb moment. I thought of a mix and match idea with clothes. I will pick 20 pieces of clothing be it a dress, top, cardigan, trouser or shoes and they will form my capsule wardrobe for the next 6-8 weeks. I will mix and match them to create new outfits everyday without repeating.

Here are my 20 pieces of clothing:

5 tops

4 bottoms

4 dresses
2 cardigans and a coat suit

and 3 pairs of shoes that I haven't decided on.I will show them on my next post.
